报告摘要:
My lecture will have two major parts. In the first part, i will introduce the basic knowledge on chemical biology and give you a overview about this field. In the second, i will use case studies to tell you the latest research progress in chemical biology. Genetically programmed cell death is a universal and fundamental cellular process. Apoptosis and necrosis are two common features of programmed cell death that play vital roles in development and maintaining homeostasis in metazoans. Dysfunction of the regulated machinery may lead to carcinogenesis or autoimmune diseases. On the other hand, inappropriate death of essential cells may also lead to organ dysfunction or even death, such as ischemia-reperfusion injury and neurodegenerative disorders. Our laboratory has been using bioactive small molecules (either natural products or non-natural compounds) in a genetic-like approach to probe fundamental biological processes like programmed cell death. Herein, we would like to report our recent research progress on the development of small molecule probes to dissecting programmed cell death. In this respect, novel small molecule modulators of programmed cell death may pave the way for the development of potentially therapeutic treatment for the related intractable human diseases.
雷晓光教授简历 :
2001年毕业于北京大学化学系,2006年获得美国波士顿大学有机合成和化学生物学博士学位,2006-2008年在美国哥伦比亚大学从事生物有机化学博士后研究。2008年底全职回国,曾任天津大学药物科学与技术学院药物化学系教授,博士生导师,北京生命科学研究所研究员,化学中心主任。现任北京大学化学与分子工程学院研究员,博士生导师。中国化学会、药学会,美国化学会,中美化学教授协会会员。
雷晓光教授在有机合成化学领域特别复杂天然产物全合成、以及应用活性小分子探针的化学生物学研究、和创新药物研究中新的药物靶点发现等方面做出了突出成绩。近年来,他主持/承担科技部973重大研究计划、科技部863重大研究计划、国家自然科学基金-优秀青年基金等多项国家级重要科研项目,研究成果在Nature,Cell,Nat.Chem. Biol.,Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.,J.Am. Chem. Soc.,Chem. Sci.和Cell Res.等国际顶级刊物上发表多篇论文,申请美国和国际专利5项。2016年获得了国家自然科学基金杰出青年基金,2012年基金委优秀青年基金,2010年教育部新世纪优秀人才等奖励。
